BALI : The Popular Tourists Destination in the World

FIRST DAY…

I and some of my friends, including one of my colleagues went to Kintamani. We started in the morning about 9am. Pak Wayan who is one the friend that I knew some months ago in Jakarta at a meeting accompanied us as a guide and driver also because we rented his car for several days, including for the trip to Kintamani. After picking me up, we went to pic up Risya, Sirinet and Ira at Harris Hotel. It is around 5 minutes from Matahari Bungalow at Legian street which was the hotel that I had stayed for my days in Bali. From Haris hotel, we went straight to silver factory to take only sightseeing, however, we then bought some silver goods produced by the factory. I bought a silver Buddha necklace, Risya for an earrings and Sirrinet for a ring. We were hurry since we had limited time only since Sirinet has to be at Ngurah Rai airport by 3.40pm to get her flight for flying back to Thailand. We planned to spend 30 minutes only at the factory but we eventually exceeded the time allocation.
Pak Wayan then asked for whether we would stop by a Barong Dance place or not where all of us agreed to skip the place out of the visit and directly visited the Sukowati market. As at the silver factory, we only had 30 minutes at the market so the ladies were hurry to buy what they want to take home with. Surprise that they did it timely so we then went straightly to Kintamani. Along side of the road we were passing by, there are so many goods are displaying to get travelers attention. They are so attractive but I know that I don’t have enough space any more to put the goods in my house, moreover I will move to an apartment next two years which has a small space so I have to think about the space if want to buy something new whether it will take space in the apartment or not so I just enjoyed sightseeing of the goods. We also found some fruits kiosks standing up on the road near to Kintamani. We then stopped at a kiosk and bought some fruits to be eaten while traveling to Lake of Kintamani. We arrived at Kintamani area about 11.50am. Wayan parked the car at a restaurant parking area and the he pleased us to step into the restaurant for lunch and also enjoy scenery of the Mountain of Batur and the Lake of Kintamani which lay so far from us. It is so beautiful and quite in peace and harmony when looking at the mountain and lake far away which covering by thick clouds. The restaurant has an open space for its guests who want to sit outside the building to enjoy the scenery while having lunch so most of its guests took place outsides with their lunch plates. It provides a lot kind of foods but in western taste so it seemed like a tasteless for Indonesian and also the Thai lady. Before, during and after the lunch, we took some photos to memorize the journey then we went out from the place. We didn’t visit the Kintamani itself because both we didn’t have enough time and also we avoided the street vendors who will push hard the guests to buy their selling goods. Pk Wayan already warned us about the behaviors when we were still in the car so that we were able to be aware for local condition instead of getting tension with the vendors. He is familiar with the local condition since he is a Balinese who knows and wants his guests getting good image on the island and also tourist destination spots at the island. When we weare going back, we stopped for a moment at street near by the restaurant because Ira wanted to take some pictures, however the street vendors then crowded around her even though Pak Wayan had already parked the car a little bit far from them. Ira rushed in taking pictures and then got back to the car as quick as she could. We then went away from the spot straight to Ngurah Rai airport to drop Sirinet.

It was about one and half hours arriving at the airport from Kintamani. We said goodbye with Sirinet and then got back to the city. We stopped by Joger shop which selling special clothes and also other goods in its own brand as a local brand that already popular for all over Indonesia so many domestic tourists have been visiting the shop when we were there. I just shopped there without buying something. Risya went inside for a few moments only then she wanted to escape quickly herself because of crowd buyers and also it is not her type of shop to buy something. I then accompanied her going outside and standing up at around front door to wait for Ira finished her shopping. Some minutes later, Ira went out from the shop with a big package as souvenirs for her friends.
We left the Joger behind and went to visit Tanah Lot which is a very famous destination spot for both domestic and international tourist. It took about one and half hours from the Joger shop. There are a lot of shops around the spot. Most of the goods that selling around seems same with Sukowati, Legian, Kuta and also other places within the island. Of course we have to bargain for buying something. However, the prices are cheaper compared to Kuta and Legian we can get cheap ones if we know how to bargain properly without irritating the sellers. It requires art of bargaining and communication.

It was my first time at Tanah Lot. It was satisfied my child imagination about the place when seeing its photos on calendar. I, Risya and Ira walked around and took photos. We then separated our self to different spots around it to get more details on what we want to know. I finally sat on a green grass field facing the sun that going to West. Not so far from me there were 2 international tourists sitting accompanied by a local guide who is talking fluent in English which trying to convince the tourist about his supra natural power to heal them while sunset. Some minutes later I saw that one of the tourists closed her eyes when the local people put his left hand to her head and slowly got down to her shoulders, backbones and then finished at her bots. I just enjoyed the moment while waiting for sunset is coming around that making tourist sat on quite to enjoy the moment. We then went out of the area when night was coming around.

to be continued with SECOND DAY
